Okay, so this has been sitting in my review drafts for about two months. We, as a group of seven, had a spectacular dinner as part of my sister's 40th birthday events. I had never been to Casa Sensi, and I was impressed with the way the restaurant ran. It's clearly both a special occasion destination restaurant mixed in with some locals who frequent the fairly large restaurant that sits on the New River Canal, which is where we opted to sit. I made a reservation and then had to modify it, hoping for a slightly earlier time as we realized we can't hang like we used to. The restaurant had to make the change themselves, and they did accommodate us on a busy summer night. We parked across the street in a private lot, which, unlike a few years ago, is no easy task. Note there is no valet service, which can be problematic for some. Our party arrived pretty much at the same time, and we were seated about 5 or 10 minutes after our reservation time. The tables are small, and although the restaurant handled groups very well, they are still small tables, so be aware of that. The restaurant itself is an example of fusion that works--Asian/Latin fusion--which leaves a lot of room for creativity. Usually, that means a restaurant is trying to do way too much, but not in this case; it worked. Our server, Alex, greeted us immediately after we got our menus. He was pleasant from the start and was easily able to read our party and our wants and needs. You can tell he's been in the hospitality industry for a good while (which was the case as we got to know him a bit). Drink-wise, I only had an iced tea and a beer, although almost everyone else ordered drinks. Now on to the food. We ordered a bunch of apps and small plates and shared those. Among the highlights were the Cuban Tostones; the Chimichurri sauce combined with the guacamole and shrimp made for some of the best I've had in this country. The charred octopus was next up; it was soft even though it was grilled, and like octopus tends to be, very filling. It was delicious but definitely not the best I've ever had. We also enjoyed the Blue Crab Rangoon, which was enjoyable, but it didn't stick out as much different than typical frozen crab Rangoon except with Blue Crab. We also shared the Tokyo Tuna Tower. This was a test for me to see what I would order based on the quality of the fish. As a lot of you know, a good amount of sushi restaurants don't use top-notch seafood, but the Ahi Tuna did taste like a higher-end fish; however, I could be wrong. Either way, it led me to my entree, which was a Lobster Bomb roll. Market price was, I believe, $35-40.00, and it was worth every penny. It's a great combination of whole lobster (Tempura) with a blend of eel sauce and a house-made spicy mayo along with Kani mix. Even though it was only one lobster, it was a very large lobster and was enough to eat as a meal and still have enough to share. The restaurant was informed of my sister's birthday. They provided a tiny cupcake. I made it clear that we would like something different (cake slice or other gourmet dessert with the same presentation) and would, of course, pay accordingly, but we ended up with the cupcake. It wasn't what we wanted, but still, it was a great dinner and a really nice night. Also, as a side note, the table size didn't enable me to take as many pictures of the entrees as I normally would.

Service, food and ambience here deserve 5 stars. I made reservations a day prior and we were seated as soon as we arrived. Shoutout to Kimberly she was amazing and took care of all 8 of us. We ordered everything from the duck, ahi ceviche, poke bowl, truffle butter crunch, Mongolian beef, salmon tataki, charred octopus and Bao bun pork belly. All of the food were seasoned well and textures were on point. The Mongolian beef was tender, duck had a nice crispy texture and the poke bowls are a must. The fish was really fresh and the octopus was so good we almost ordered more. The ambience here is really nice. High ceilings with comfy leather seats and views of the water. There's a backdrop with a neon omakase sign. The menu is very extensive. You get a nice mix of pan Asian, Japanese and Latin mix. I loved the combination of flavors and the mix in cuisine. Highly recommend coming here if you want to try different fusion dishes. Thank you again to the team for making our experience and our friends birthday memorable. Parking in the garage is $10 an hour and if you park on the street it's a little bit cheaper.

Just love this beautiful place. The ambiance, food, drinks and service are the best. Thank you Dani for all your recommendations and pristine service. You and the other amazing servers were great. I had a nice bday dinner.

Came here for the first time last night and the food was phenomenal! Pictured: Lamb chops, Korean chimichurri, Wagyu Yuke and yuzu sake (super delicious) All the food came out piping hot which is my favorite temperature! We also ordered the beef empanadas that had good flavor, they were mini like dumpling size Service was a little slow due to it being super busy but tolerable Environment was very loud and Fort Lauderdale like.

I came to Casa Sensei this Sunday because I heard they have an excellent brunch. I couldn't agree more. I requested to sit outside by the water, and the views were breathtaking, especially on a gorgeous day outside. They have umbrellas at the tables and rotating fans to keep you cool. My server Kim was absolutely the best. Engaging, knowledgeable, and very attentive. The complimentary Kimchi butter popcorn was something I never even thought of before but will definitely try to replicate it at home. For drinks, I ordered the spicyamgo margarita. The first sip the spiciness hits, and then comes the sweetness of mango. Just perfect. My eyes lit up when I saw the plate of Togarashi fried chicken and waffles. The uniqueness of the plate and the size of the food was something else. The waffles and chicken were crispy to beyond perfection, and I loved how tender the chicken was with the seasoning under the skin and on top of the meat. I can only imagine their other items are, as I look forward to visiting again.

This was my first time at this place, and we had an outstanding experience. Mark was an excellent server and very on top of things. Everything we tried was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for a warm summer night. We were able to snag a table overlooking the canal, and the views of the gondolas going by was an added bonus. I would highly recommend asking for Mark!

I had a wonderful dining experience at Casa Sensei! It was not packed for a dinner for two on a Sunday. We opted to dine outside and enjoy the view Casa Sensei offers. To start, we enjoyed the Lobster Bomb. It was delicious. For my drinks, I tried the Ocean Breeze Punch and Melontini, and I was very satisfied because they were both refreshing for a hot summer evening. For dinner, we ordered Charred Octopus and Sensei Fried Rice (both were large enough to be shared by two people), and I was so happy with our choice. Casa Sensei offers sooo many options it can be overwhelming, but our server Emmett R was very knowledgeable, hospitable, and helped us decide what to order. I had the best time and will certainly return!

Came here for the first time and it is going to be added to the annual rotation! Food was to die for! Ambiance was okay, restaurant is a bit small and tight quartered, but absolutely worth it for the meal. My group ordered family style so we could try as many things as possible. Here was our order: Apps: Charred Octopus, General Tso's Chicken Bites, Blue Crab Rangoon, Eye of the Tiger Roll, Shrimp Shumai, Pork Dumplings Entrees: Korean BBQ Beef and Kimchi Fried Rice, Casa Cauliflower and Broccoli, Waygu NY Strip Nothing was disappointing, everything was TRULY delicious, but the stars of the meal were by far the Octopus, the Chicken Bites, the Fried Rice and the Waygu Strip. I order Octopus on every menu I see and this was top three by far, if not the BEST octopus I have ever had. You get two huge, meaty pieces that are cooked for absolute perfection. Juicy yet charred. I would go back for the Octopus alone. The service was a bit slow, but again, not bad enough to prevent me from going back. Highly recommend!

Came here to celebrate my birthday with some friends! Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait about 15-20 minutes and the area to wait in is very small and cramped. We did get a big table eventually and the place was pretty cool. The menu was large and we were able to get our drinks and food pretty quick. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and the experience as a whole!
